About Kathryn

Kathryn Schotthoefer Dreyer is a strategic advisor, executive consultant, and former agency president with more than two decades of experience helping organizations—and the leaders behind them—navigate complexity, scale impact, and communicate with clarity.

As Principal at SDSA, she works with executive teams on strategy, communications, and marketing—helping them clarify direction, align teams, and lead with confidence. Her work spans sectors—from global entertainment and technology brands to grassroots movements and major foundations—and is grounded in the belief that practical, well-executed strategy drives measurable, lasting change.

Kathryn brings deep expertise in marketing, communications, and audience development, honed through years leading high-stakes campaigns for culture-driving brands. As President of M&C Saatchi/Heavenspot, she oversaw award-winning work for Netflix, Disney, Hulu, Amazon Studios, ABC, NBC Universal, Coachella, and others. She has consulted for companies like Uber, Disney, and National Geographic, as well as leading philanthropic and nonprofit organizations. Prior, she held marketing roles with Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, and Twentieth Century Fox.

For the past six years, she has proudly served as a coach with Emerson Collective’s Dial Fellowship, supporting bold leaders driving consequential ideas. She also leads strategic partnerships for PLUS1, a music industry nonprofit connecting touring artists with grassroots nonprofits to raise millions for initiatives that support healthier people, stronger communities and a more sustainable planet.

Kathryn serves on the boards of GirlTrek and the Branch Alliance for Educator Diversity, and is a frequent collaborator, speaker, and behind-the-scenes strategist. She brings a clear-eyed, creative, and values-driven approach to every engagement—building smarter systems, stronger stories, and more sustainable leadership across every space in which she works.
